Character Generation

The first step in preparing for the campaign will be creating your character. This is a very involved process, arguably more so than other games such as D&D. You have to roll your stats, of course. Then there are many Occupational Character Classes (O.C.C.s) from which to choose. I will summarize them for you in this Wiki.

First off, we will be starting this campaign at level 3.

You will also need to select a race. These are also many races to choose from, but if this is your first time playing I would recommend “human”. Some O.C.C.s are off-limits to non-humans, and there is a lot of prejudice in the world against non-humans as well. However, you can be one of many D-Bees (Dimensional Beings), or you may be a mutant. I will explain all this.

Let’s not forget your alignment! There’s no “neutral” in Rifts. I’ve provided a brief description of each alignment. My preference is that players lean towards goodness. I don’t want to run an evil campaign.

Then you will need to select skills. Using skills, which are d10(%)-based, is a big part of Rifts. You will make frequent skill checks for everything from driving a vehicle to detecting ambushes to going fishing.

So here is a summary for you to read through:
